Some of the Kent Green Hop brewers and brewsters gathered in the gardens around Canterbury on Friday to rub & sniff and drink beer. Here they are, in amongst the Early Birds (an east Kent Golding variety), posing. Most of the gardens were resplendent and healthy but the pick of the crop at this stage were the Cobb's, another east Kent Golding variety.
This late August heat wave is welcome not so much for the temperature as the light - good, intense luminary conditions are highly favourable. More of the same until late September could see a vintage crop.
